Following a nomination by the Humboldt Union in Bulgaria, on 10 December 2024, President Rumen Radev, at a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall at 2 “Dondukov” Blvd, awarded Professor Dr Radka Argirova the Order “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” with Necklace.
Professor Argirova actively supports young researchers in their academic growth and has always demonstrated an active civic stance, committed to supporting and raising the level of scientific research in Bulgaria.
Through more than 50 years of scientific, teaching, administrative and public activity, Professor Radka Argirova has contributed to the development and advancement of the national and international standing of the Bulgarian virological science and school. She is known for her exceptionally active work and her achievements as a virologist, and for her enormous contribution to the fight against severe viral diseases in Bulgaria, in defence of the health and prosperity of Bulgarian society.
