The Section “Medical, Biological and Agricultural Sciences” unites Bulgarian scientists working in the fields of medicine, the biological sciences and the agricultural sciences. At present the Section has 22 Humboldtian members. Human and veterinary medicine have the largest number of representatives, followed by the biological and the agricultural sciences. The Section’s scientists work on a wide range of research problems in biomedicine and the agrarian sciences. Their achievements and specific scientific contributions resonate widely in the international specialised scientific literature.
All of them take an active part in national and international scientific events, and many are invited as speakers at such events. The Section holds informal meetings at which current issues of science in Bulgaria are discussed and information about new achievements in the members’ professional fields is exchanged.
