At a formal ceremony held on 10 January 2025 in the Aula of Sofia University, Professor Robert Schlögl was awarded the honorary title “Doctor Honoris Causa” of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
The Humboldt Union in Bulgaria congratulates Professor Schlögl on being awarded the honorary title of the oldest higher school in Bulgaria. The President of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation received the distinction for his outstanding scientific achievements in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and the conversion of chemical energy, and for the contribution of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to the development of researchers in Bulgaria. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bulgaria, Ms Irene Plank.
